Intellectual Property Policy

Fox Allen Bindery LLC (“the Studio”) produces original artwork, marbled papers, book designs, instructional materials, and digital content. This policy explains how our intellectual property may be used and the rights of both the Studio and workshop participants.

1. Ownership of Studio Content

All content created by Fox Allen Bindery LLC, including but not limited to:

  • Book designs and handmade products

  • Artwork, marbled papers, and original creative work

  • Workshop materials, handouts, and instructions

  • Website text, images, videos, and branding

  • Logos, trademarks, business names, and digital content

is the exclusive intellectual property of Fox Allen Bindery LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.

You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or modify any Studio content without written permission.

2. Use of Workshop Materials & Instructional Content

  • Workshop handouts, guides, templates, and techniques are for personal use only

  • Participants may use the skills learned to create their own original work

  • However, participants may not reproduce, share, redistribute, sell, publish, or teach the Studio’s written materials, patterns, or class content without explicit written permission

Example: You can make a book using the skills learned, but you cannot copy or distribute the workshop handouts or teach the same workshop using Fox Allen Bindery LLC materials.

3. Participant Creations

Participants fully own the physical items they create during workshops (books, marbled papers, etc.).
However:

  • The Studio may request permission to photograph participant work for promotional purposes

  • Participants may decline photography as outlined in our Photography & Media Policy

4. Custom Orders & Commissioned Work

  • Designs created for custom orders remain the intellectual property of Fox Allen Bindery LLC unless a separate written agreement transfers those rights

  • Clients receive the physical finished product but not the rights to reproduce or commercialize the design

5. Use of Fox Allen Bindery LLC Branding

Participants, customers, and third parties may not use or reproduce without prior written consent:

  • The Fox Allen Bindery LLC (“Fox Allen Bindery”) name

  • Logo

  • Visual branding

  • Website content

  • Photographs

6. Requests for Licensing or Permissions

Licensing opportunities may be available for select designs, images, or teaching materials.

7. Violations

Unauthorized copying, reproduction, teaching, or distribution of Studio content is prohibited and may result in:

  • Revocation of access to workshops or services

  • Legal action for infringement

  • Denial of future services
