Fox Maasch

Owner/Operator

Massachusetts based multimedia artist and bookbinder, Fox Allen Maasch, has been developing his skills in various media throughout his life. At the age of 15 he attended the pre-college program at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, where he was first introduced to the basics of bookbinding. As a junior in high school Fox took an elective class titled Word and Image, a combination art and english course that discussed the relation between artist’s books and the written content within. This sparked his lifelong obsession with the hand crafted book. After stepping deep into creating the physical book, he attended Middlebury College’s Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference for his poetic works to strengthen the personal content within. He was later awarded the Heather Brown Visual Arts Award as a senior at Waynflete School, his high school alma mater. After high school Fox attended Simmons University, where he studied both Studio Arts and Chemistry, combining his passion for art and science.

Fox took his passion forward a few years down the line and graduated from the North Bennet Street School’s bookbinding program in 2024. His books have given him a chance to explore the endless opportunity to relay a narrative message. Harkening on the past, he often uses historic binding structures, natural dyes, and hand marbled papers in his pieces. This relationship to the past highlights the importance of what has happened through history so that we can remember and take into consideration its relevance in the present and future.

Fox Allen Bindery has been established as an LLC since 2025.
