Workshop Liability Waiver

Please read this agreement carefully. By registering for or attending a workshop at Fox Allen Bindery LLC (“the Studio”), you (“Participant”) agree to the terms below.

1. Acknowledgment of Risk

Bookbinding, paper marbling, and related craft activities involve the use of tools, materials, and equipment that may pose risks, including but not limited to:

  • Sharp tools (knives, awls, needles)

  • Adhesives, solvents or other chemicals

  • Heated tools or equipment

  • Slippery, wet, or dye-based materials

  • Heavy books or studio equipment

By participating, you acknowledge that these activities carry inherent risks of injury or property damage.

2. Assumption of Responsibility

You agree to:

  • Follow all safety instructions and guidance from the instructor

  • Use tools, equipment, and materials responsibly

  • Report unsafe conditions or concerns immediately

  • Wear appropriate clothing and prioritize your own safety

You accept full responsibility for your behavior and safety during the workshop.

3. Release of Liability

By participating, you release and hold harmless Fox Allen Bindery LLC, its owners, instructors, assistants, and affiliates from any and all claims, damages, losses, or liabilities resulting from:

  • Personal injury

  • Property damage

  • Accidents or incidents occurring before, during, or after the workshop

  • Misuse of tools or equipment

This release applies to all causes, including ordinary negligence, except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

4. Personal Belongings

Fox Allen Bindery is not responsible for the loss of or damage to personal property brought into the studio.

5. Health & Ability

By attending the workshop, you confirm that:

  • You are able to participate safely in workshop activities

  • You will disclose relevant health concerns, allergies, or mobility limitations

  • You will not attend if feeling ill or unable to safely engage in activities

6. Photography & Media Release

You may choose to allow or decline:

  • Permission for Fox Allen Bindery to photograph you or your work

  • Use of these photos for marketing, social media, or educational purposes

If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform the instructor at the start of the workshop.

7. Minors

Participants must be 16+, unless attending a youth-specific workshop or accompanied by a parent/guardian who signs this waiver on the minor’s behalf.
