Health and Safety Policy

Fox Allen Bindery LLC is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for all staff, workshop participants, and visitors. This policy outlines the procedures and responsibilities to ensure safety in the studio.

1. General Safety Guidelines

  • Participants must follow all instructor guidance and studio rules

  • Workspaces and tools must be kept clean and organized to prevent accidents

  • Walkways and exits must remain clear at all times

  • Sharp tools, heated equipment, adhesives and all other materials must be used responsibly

2. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Safety gloves, aprons, or protective eyewear may be required depending on the activity and will be provided

  • Participants are responsible for wearing appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes

  • Long hair should be tied back when using equipment

3. Health Requirements

  • Participants must not attend workshops if feeling ill or exhibiting symptoms of contagious illness

  • Any relevant allergies, medical conditions, or mobility limitations must be disclosed prior to participation

  • The Studio reserves the right to ask participants to refrain from activities if they may compromise their safety or that of others

4. Emergency Procedures

  • First aid supplies are available in the studio

  • In the event of an accident or injury, the instructor will provide immediate assistance and, if necessary, contact emergency services

  • Emergency contact information is collected from all participants prior to workshop participation

  • Fire exits and evacuation routes are clearly marked; participants must familiarize themselves at the start of each session

5. Cleaning and Sanitation

  • Tools, surfaces, and shared equipment are regularly cleaned and maintained

  • Participants are encouraged to wash hands before and after workshops

  • Any spills or hazards must be reported immediately

6. Reporting Concerns

  • Participants, visitors, and staff should report unsafe conditions, hazards, or near misses to the instructor immediately

  • The Studio will investigate and take appropriate corrective actions to prevent accidents

7. Compliance and Responsibility

  • All participants are responsible for their own safety and the safety of those around them

  • Failure to follow health and safety rules may result in removal from the workshop or studio
